Starting his career in 1995 with one of the top advertising agencies in Pakistan, Aqeel has handled renowned multinational accounts including Nestle MilkPak (Pakistan), Phillips (Lights Division), Revlon Cosmetics, Emirates Airlines and Pepsi Cola International (PCI) among others.
He played an important part in an extensive effort by Pepsi Cola International (Pakistan) advertising campaign for 1996 Cricket World Cup held in Pakistan, India & Sri Lanka for which a special outdoor campaign was developed and for the first time MMT / Scotch Print technology was launched in Pakistan and PCI was among the first users of the same.
He was also very actively involved in the most important & massive roll-out of the new Pepsi 300 ml bottle (only in Karachi) – which became a case study in all major business institutes of Karachi.
While working as a client, Aqeel has served the Cupola Group and played a key role in launching international franchises in Pakistan such as Thomas Cook (Travel Agency from UK), T.G.I.Friday’s (US Chain), Marriott (GSR’s), Color4Kids (Kids Furniture from Denmark), AlphaGraphics (Off-set Printing unit from USA) and PizzaExpress (UK Chain).
Coming back to Advertising, Aqeel managed the business Pakistan Tobacco Company’s “John Player Gold Leaf (JPGL)” and played a leading role in managing the ‘Voyage of Discovery 2000’ campaign and put togther a gala event to host the JPGL boat arrival in Karachi.
He has also been a part of the renowned Jang Group of Companies and worked as 'General Manager' for its “Interactive Voice Response (IVR)” for Jang and GEO Network.
Later on, Aqeel joined an upcoming advertising agency and handled clients like USAID (2 major projects), Gul Ahmed Textile Mills, Shezan International, Kolson, National Bank of Pakistan, Continental Biscuits (LU) etc.
Recently, he has been honored by ‘FPCCI’ for his contributions in all three core areas of communications – media, brand and advertising.
It is because he possess knowledge in all 3 key areas of marketing, his inputs are extremely valuable to the organisation.
