As part of the overall Pirana Group's restructure for growth, Syed Shakeel Hasan, joins the Group as a Regional ECD. Shakeel was previously the Executive Creative Director at JWT Pakistan and brings with him 13 years of experience of driving creative campaigns for various local and multinational brands operating in Pakistan. Shakeel was instrumental in winning numerous clients for JWT that includes Pepsi, Mobilink and HBL, to name a few. He was also providing creative leadership to many others clients including Engro Foods, Unilever and Shell.

As the Regional ECD, Shakeel will lead Pirana towards growth and creative excellence and will support M&C Saatchi World Services teams in Islamabad and London for the same.

Commenting on Shakeel’s appointment Mr. Imran Irshad, Founder & Group CEO of Pirana said “We are absolutely delighted to have Shakeel joining our teams at Pirana and M&C Saatchi World Services Pakistan. We are confident that with Shakeel providing creative leadership, we should be able to put Pakistani advertising on the world map by winning international and local awards and ensuring continued business growth.”

Shakeel Hasan Profile:

With an interest in theatre and films, advertising as an option seemed like a great adventure for Shakeel Hasan. It surely has been after working on several multinational brands including the epic launch of Olper's, a local milk brand, which radically changed the face of dairy category advertising and his career growth as well.

Shakeel started his career with JWT in 2003 as an intern, after dropping out of both IBA and LUMS, and stayed on for around 7 years to win numerous clients for JWT, which included brands like Pepsi, Mobilink and HBL to name a few. He also led the most prestigious portfolio with brands like Pepsi, Mobilink, Engro Foods, Unilever, Shell to name a few.

Shakeel parted ways with JWT to lead Red Communications, a local partner agency to Publicis worldwide, as National Creative Director. After a two year hiatus and successful client wins like PSO, Tetrapak amongst others at Red Communications, Shakeel Hasan re-joined JWT in the capacity of ECD Karachi and led the complete portfolio of the agency in Pakistan with the best creative minds as part of his team.

Shakeel’s recent rendezvous was ideas and production camp which he founded with likeminded partners last year to focus on an end to end communication solution while spreading the creative wings to other art forms like feature films and television content.

A people's person by nature with observation being his favourite pass time, Shakeel has a keen understanding of his surroundings, the people in it and their personality realities.
